Sean Penn is defending doing an interview with an on the run drug lord by saying he had a right to do the interview and did nothing wrong. It’s what journalists do, they seek to get a story before someone else does. I’m not sure how Sean Penn is a journalist but I get that he got a scoop and Rolling Stone likely paid him well for it.
The issue I have with this story is that he did the interview in person with El Chapo which means for that moment in time he knew where this wanted criminal was and didn’t tell anyone. There has to be some consequences for that decision that goes beyond journalistic integrity.
I wonder if there is a movie in the works right now starring the actor Sean Penn?
