Healthy numbers

We all know that to maintain our weight we have to eat well and know what proper portions are. We also all know that the results of our effort to control our intake are hugely improved with the help of regular exercise. Most of us would agree that doing both all the time is difficult.

Here is something that will help to make this easy. I recently started to wear a Fitbit Flex on my wrist. What happened is that I now am able to quantify my input and output activity. Having hard data to look at makes me more accountable to myself to hit the right numbers.

As an activity example, I now am in the habit of parking my car further away from where I’m going so that the walk increases my daily steps which are counted by the Fitbit. Three times now I have increased my daily step target because it was becoming easy to hit the previous goals.

Being able to see and measure my activity has motivated me to work towards tracking calories too. Remember, if in one week if we burn 3500 calories more than we take in we lose a pound. Now that this is trackable I know how to get there. Knowing how well I’ve slept is pretty cool too.

I don’t think I’ve ever recommended a product on my blog. The results of using this technology speaks for itself so I thought it would be good to share.
