The true test of honesty

Let’s be honest. Most of us see ourselves as being truthful. To me though, being honest is bigger than that.

Being honest is choosing a path in life and then being true to that path. You stay on that course, no matter what. Being honest is also how you treat and respect other people. An honest person is a person with a high level of integrity.

So the test of how honest you are is when honesty costs money. It happens where in a transaction somebody makes a mistake and doesn’t charge you enough. You know right away the mistake has been made and it’s to your advantage. What do you do? If you are truly a person who is honest to yourself and others you will instantly do the right thing and speak up to correct the mistake. Or, will you? That is the ultimate test.

If you don’t speak up and you walk away thinking you got a deal you’re wrong. You’re actually a thief. Once a thief, always a thief.
