Wind Chill Pride

Winter weather and temperatures in Canada can vary greatly even on a daily basis, from coast to coast. Us prairie dwellers are land locked and subject to Arctic air masses that can give us day time highs of -34C, even higher….. and that can last for days.

Wind chill factors in wind speed and the calculation results in a “feels like” temperature which means it seems colder than it really is.

I’ve noticed lately that a lot of people use the wind chill when asked what the temperature is outside. I wonder why they do that? The only possible reason I can come up with is by saying its colder than it really is, is like bragging rights. Maybe they are right because life goes on anyway.  We bundle up and keep going where folks in other places would not even venture outside, so let’s be proud. I think!
