Restaurant Etiquette

Cell phones. We all seem to have them and we now are at a point of relying on them for many uses other than using them as phones.

I have a suggestion for 2014 and beyond, to the dumb smart phone users. If you have to take a call in a restaurant, keep your voice down. If that doesn’t work for you then leave your table to take the call. Go into the bar or go outside and finish your call out of respect to others.

This must be an issue everywhere. I recently read about a restaurant operator in Israel who offered a discount on the bills of those customers who opted to turn their phones off while in that restaurant.

I wonder if that increased the real conversation with the people they were with?
