The glow of social media

When sitting in a restaurant waiting for a friend I tend to pay attention to who and what is going on around me. For me, guessing the dynamic between the people at different tables is an enjoyable way to pass the time.

Recently I could not help but notice a common trend at the majority of the tables. One if not all of the people had their face down looking at their phones while texting, following or liking. Because the restaurant was dark their faces were lit up in the glow of their phones. It would have made an interesting photo but I didn’t think of taking one as I was too busy watching people remove themselves from the people they were with.

I wonder if anyone would notice if I had of taken any pictures of the scene. Probably not as they were too busy being drawn to the light!
