Goose talk

We are having a late spring here in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Winter just won’t let go. We still have high snow drifts, frozen lakes, rivers and ponds. It’s warming up but not nearly fast enough for those of us looking forward to a new season of golf.

The geese that are coming home, back up north to this frozen tundra, didn’t get the message.

Yesterday I saw a goose couple standing at the edge of a retention pond staring out at the frozen water. There might have well been a speech balloon above the female, because I know she was looking at him saying ” way to go sport, you couldn’t have waited 2 more weeks till it warmed up!”

I wonder what’s colder. Her attitude towards mating or the temperature???
