Grocers have the perfect opportunity to sell more items if they would stop and think of ways to make things easy and fast for their customers. But they don’t get it.
Example: A favorite summer treat at the campsite or cottage around a fire are Smores. The combination of melted chocolate and marshmallow between Graham Wafer cookies is the gooey best.
Why wouldn’t a grocery store have a display of all the ingredients in one place in the store, instead of having to walk up and down every aisle looking for each one. Why not, hot dogs or hamburgers and buns and condiments all in the same place. Why not put sauces and rubs right in the meat section beside the chicken and steaks. Bacon with the eggs? I guess not.
I think the return to the grocery store would be significant. But no, I guess it’s easy to just do things the way it’s always been done.
I wonder too when they will wake up and provide carry baskets at the back of the store when my hands are full, and not just at the front door?? Wow…..what a concept!! If I can carry more I might spend more!
Absolutely love this post! Thank you for noticing that grocery stores purposefully layout the grocery stores to set up consumers to spend more money.
