Patio Pests

It’s nasty wasp season again in Winnipeg and no I don’t mean us White Anglo Saxon Protestants. I mean the flying stinging variety. This should not be a news flash to our city’s restaurants with outdoor patios but apparently it is.

There are numerous types of traps and even fake hives that can be strategically hung to waved off these territorial pests but no, most restaurants don’t bother to do anything about the problem and leave their customers to fend for themselves, especially when the food arrives!

I wonder what a manager of any of these infested patios might think if he/she watched their customers continually swat the air around them in self defense….that they are trying to get the attention of their server?

Good point about restaurants during wasp season. I too wonder why they’re not more proactive.
