A Tribute to Dad

On Tuesday, May 15/12 my 94 year old father passed away. At his funeral yesterday I chose to say a few words in honour of this great man who lived a good long life.

These are the words I used to describe who he was and how he should be remembered:
Hard, soft, tough, gentle, positive, giving, thrifty, critical, understanding, smart, happy, serious, simple, handy, never quit, self taught, survivor, friendly, engaging, kind, harsh, helpful, willing, provider, decisive, teacher, honest, trustworthy, problem solver, strong hand shake.

Today, I thought of a few more:
law abiding, respectful and precise

I know these words truly told Dad’s story because all of them that I read out at his resting place came to me naturally without thinking in just a couple of minutes.

His legacy is the influence he will always have on his son.

I wonder how many more words will be added to this list as time goes on?
