Is it superstition or blind hope that makes lottery ticket buyers think that they are going to be the next big winner if they buy their ticket at a retail location that sold last weeks big winning ticket?

When they see the mobile sign saying buy your next ticket here because we sell winning tickets do they actually believe that they have a better chance of winning if they buy theirs at the same place?

I don’t get it because I don’t buy lottery tickets. But at least now I understand how the term dumb luck got its start.
